Classical Ballet (ages 8 and up)
Ballet is the basis for all forms of dance. Students are trained in proper classical techniques, terminology, and body alignment. Classes include barre and center work with a strong emphasis on musicality and performance. Students gain grace, poise and self-confidence. Students ages 11 and up who have achieved sufficient strength and technique will be allowed to go on pointe. This next step in the students training is up to the discretion of the director.
Pre-Ballet (ages 3 – 7)
Classes expose children to the joy of dance through basic ballet skills, creative movement, rhythm and music in a supportive and supervised atmosphere.
Jazz (ages 5 and up)
Students are taught modern jazz techniques, leaps, turns, and fun combinations to current popular music. It is a great way for students to express their own personal style.
Tap (ages 4 and up)
An American art form using precise rhythmical patterns and foot movements. Tap dancing helps students develop rhythm, coordination and timing as well as allowing them to make music with their feet!
Lyrical (ages 6 and up)
A fusion of ballet and jazz techniques where dancers have the freedom to express themselves using motion and emotion to show the meaning of the music. This form of dance helps students performance in all other genres of dance.
Hip Hop (ages 6 and up)
A style of dance which evolved from street dancing styles. This is an athletic, bouncy and funky type of dance, but above all it’s fun!
Private Lessons (all ages)
Private lessons are available to students who wish to improve certain skills to take their dancing to the next level. Also choreography for school plays, talent shows etc.
Cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced on our Facebook Page and the Remind App. (Check with studio for sign-up code). Classes missed due to illness can be made up according to studio availability and will be assigned by class teacher upon request. Cancellations and absences are not deductible from tuition fees.
* All students are required to wear a leotard and tights to class. (any color) * Hair must be pulled back in either a bun or ponytail for all classes. * No baggy clothing of any kind is permitted. No midriff tops or t-shirts are permitted. * Jewelry should not be worn in class. No gum chewing allowed. * Ballet Students – pink ballet shoes – ballet skirts are permitted. * Jazz Students – black jazz shoes or foot undeez – tight jazz shorts are permitted. * Tap Students – black Mary Jane style shoes up to age 8, black oxford shoes ages 8 and up. * Lyrical Students – bare feet or foot undeez * Hip Hop Students – clean sneakers, shorts and T’s are permitted in this class only.
Parents are responsible for the purchase of recital costumes of Miss Tydvil’s choosing. A registration fee of $20.00 per class is due by September 30th. If the student finishes the year of dance, this money will be used towards the purchase of your child’s costume. All costume money must be paid in full no later than January 7th. Money for costumes and registration fees are non-refundable.
CDA can host your child’s birthday party! “You provide the food, we provide the fun.” Parties include: Themes, Games, Decorations, Lighting, Music and most importantly, DANCING. Parties can be up to 3 hours in length and are available anytime on Sundays.
